More than 500 youths have responded positively to the Guyana Defence Force’s recruitment drive.A release from force headquarters revealed that the ongoing recruitment process to date has thus far attracted 587 young people who have indicated an interest in being trained to become soldiers.Potential recruits being escorted in GDF Headquarters Camp Ayanganna.The Force Administration said that it is optimistic about this development, and sees it as a testimony to the fact that the Guyana Defence Force continues to be a strong national institution in which the people of Guyana repose their confidence.The GDF started its 2016 Recruitment process on Monday,NCAA Football Jerseys, January 11,St. Louis Blues Gear, 2016 with the aim of attracting able bodied youths,Alex Formenton Jersey, and allowing them the opportunity to serve Guyana and at the same time,Air Max 98 Gundam 2018, build a worthwhile career in the Force.The interested applicants are documented as they present themselves,Al MacInnis Jersey, and then issued with a Potential Recruit Service Number, before they are exposed to the Force’s Recruit Entrance Examination.However, those applicants with Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) qualifications as well as those in possession of Technical Certificates are exempted from writing this Examination.Following the academic assessment, all of the applicants are required to undergo a physical assessment. On completion of these assessments, the Potential Recruits are informed within 48 hours of their respective results.Those who are successful, are then invited to be interviewed by the Recruitment Board, and on the successful completion of the interview,Nike Air Max 2018 Shoes, the Potential Recruit is subjected to a complete medical evaluation.Once deemed fit, they are then subjected to a rigorous character vetting process.The Basic Recruit Course provides induction training for entrants at the Ordinary Rank level, and is meant to produce fit, obedient, loyal and disciplined soldiers who possess the foundational skills for service in the GDF.
