The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers’ Union (GAWU) is hosting a five-person delegation from China’s biggest trade union.Here in Guyana from the All China Trade Union Federation (ACFTU) for the next four days are Wang Ruisheng, Vice-Chair and National Secretary, Chang Yimin, Director of Economic and Technological Department, Zhu Bin,China NFL Jerseys, Deputy-Director of International Department, Chen Mingjian, Staff Member of General Office, ACFTU and Geng Jiamin, Staff Member of International Department.According to GAWU, the Chinese trade unionists’ visit to Guyana is part of a three-nation tour to the Caribbean. The delegation already concluded its visit to Trinidad and Tobago and will be going to Jamaica.GAWU’s President, Komal Chand, and General Secretary, Seepaul Narine, with the delegation from the ACFTU, at the Pegasus Hotel, shortly after their arrival.The ACFTU, which was founded on May 01, 1925, is the sole national trade union federation of the People’s Republic of China. It is the largest trade union in the world with 230 million members in 1,713,000 primary trade union organizations.During the four-day visit, the delegation will meet with the members of the leadership of GAWU, the Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Guyana (FITUG). They will also meet with Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud, among others.GAWU yesterday said that they have shared a fraternal relationship for some years now. A few years ago the ACFTU hosted a delegation from GAWU in Beijing.“Certainly the delegation’s visit will serve to further strengthen relations between the Trade Union Movement in Guyana and the All China Trade Union Federation.”
