| Two alleged illegal ammunition holders were on Tuesday released on bail after they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Winston Marshall, 29, of 84 First Street, Craig, East Bank Demerara, and Faith Fordyce, 32, of 67 South Sophia are accused of having a .32 live round of ammunition in their possession, when they were not holders of a firearm licence.They were found with the ammunition at Fordyce’s residence. The police followed them and carried out a search on the premises where the ammunition was found.Fordyce’s Attorney, during her bail application, told the court that on the day in question, a party of police went to her client’s home. She said that a policeman in short pants jumped Fordyce’s fence and placed the allegation to her.The prosecutor objected to bail citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence. But his objections were overruled by the Magistrate and the defendants were granted their pre-trial liberty.The matter was adjourned to July 21. |
