Ms Armstrong said that the group will be speaking ideally to young people.She explained that young people will be advised on ways to start their own businesses. There will also be educational sessions in schools wherever there is a request.There are 50 members in the entrepreneurship group. Armstrong said that their mission is to take the women that are being trained to inspire others to develop their lives.Noting that young people are being targeted since there is a lack of jobs on the market, Ms Armstrong said the organisation wants to inspire persons to have new and visionary ideas that are needed in society.“They need to think outside the box. If there is a need in the community, then a business opportunity arises. A person can come up with business ideas that don’t even exist in Guyana.”She said that most of the women have gained networking experience and so they can share their challenges along with their successes that eventually lead to a support group.One of the many successes from the female entrepreneurs of the programme is 17-year-old Jenell Pierre who said that she is a successful entrepreneur in hair accessories, bow ties and other accessories.She said that the entrepreneur programme has enhanced her networking capability which has benefitted her business tremendously.“The support that I get from the other women in the group has been great; they share their business skills, tips and advice based on their experience and techniques you can use in business marketing/management.” Pierre said.The 17-year-old entrepreneur further noted that once a month Youth Challenge Guyana holds a session to educate participants, and group members on different aspects of business to improve their commerce.Jenell PierreReflecting on her involvement in business, Pierre in a lighthearted tone said that she was a science student and her love for making bows turned into a successful business venture.“If you are interested in becoming an entrepreneur, do something you love don’t ever get into anything unless you love it.
